The Southeast Georgia Race Finder

Most of these races and bike rides are within 60 miles of Hazlehurst, GA, but I make exceptions for races that have something making the longer drive worth it. I have organized the races by distance to help you pick out what interests you. Because many organizers include multiple distances in their events, some races will be listed in multiple sections. I will update this list as I become aware of new events. Leave a comment if you have suggestions for the list.

5k Races with 1 Mile Runs

(Note: Many 1-mile runs are attached to a 5k race. Many of these are fun runs that don't track times and places for the mile event. If you are a competitive miler, make sure to check with the race organizer before showing up to be disappointed.)

Jingle As You Glow Race Results

The Jingle As You Glow run took place at Jeff Davis High School in Hazlehurst, GA, on Saturday Dec. 6, 2014. Despite a heavy rain shower only an hour before the scheduled start of the race, turnout was good and the weather, while a little humid, was provided good racing conditions. Times may seem a little slow, but both courses are actually a little long. The mile course is about 1.1 miles and the 5k is actually just slightly shorter than 3.4 miles.

Here are race results. Overall male and female winners are in red.

Events in Our Part of the World March 1- May 31

March 16 is a big day for athletes in this part of the state. Not only do we have four of the runs that are common year round, we also have the option of a bike ride in Wayne and Appling Counties and a tennis tournament in Hazlehurst. After that, triathlon season really gets going starting in May. One of the benefits of living this far south is that open water swims are pretty comfortable before summer even officially arrives.
